Named after the hairpin curves in the mountains of the Black Hills of South Dakota, where I lived until I was in 4th grade! My Dad was a forester in Custer State Park, and I have fond memories of this region. Also available to purchase as a completed brush.
This is a digital file - instructions with pictures on how to make the hairpin brush. I have had beginner broomsquires test the instructions with success!
Once you place your order, the digital file will be sent to you via the email you provide in your order. You will need standard broom-making tools to make this brush - see list below. A beginner broomsquire can make this brush, but a little bit of experience is helpful! You will be able to use your own supplies, or purchase needed supplies at Just Whisk Away.
Please note that a kit is also available for purchase here.
You will get a link to download the instructions on the THANK YOU page as you checkout, OR, the site sends the file to the email address that you provide at checkout. Please note the digital file that the site sends will only be available for 30 days - you need to download the document and save it on your hard drive!
Tools and Supplies Needed:
- 13" tampico fiber,
- Standard cording
- A foot brake, spindel or footwinder to hold tension to make the brush
- Cigarette lighter or a means to burn the end of the cord so it doesn't fray,
- Scissors or side cutter to trim up the brush ends,
- Band wrap or means to bind the two fiber ends together to finalize the wrap
- Rip cord/jerk cord to hide your cord
A very nice and sturdy brush! I use this brush to get into tight corners for dusting, like my stairway railing, ledges on my cabinetry, my artwork frames, while detailing my car (don't use on plastic surfaces - the only thing you should use on plastic surfaces is cotton or microfiber!) - the options are endless. Read about the many uses for these brushes here. Scroll down to the Tampico Fiber section.
