These mini vises are for mini brooms and brushes.  I use mine for sewing my tampico brushes flat, as well as a holding device for my braided tampico brushes.  Each vise is 7 inches long, with the internal clamping area around 4.25 inches - the oak wood is only 1/2" thick, making them lighter and much easier to use for smaller brooms/brushes.  They are finished with a smaller knob.  
 
I had been trying to use a larger vise that was thicker wood, and longer, and it was so clumsy and heavy for the fiber, it made sewing and working challenging at best.  This vise is perfect for smaller fiber products.
 
Wood for the this vise is oak, so excellent strength, and a generational product.  Constructed with high quality nuts and bolts, as well as comfortable knobs (no wing nuts here!) for ease in adjusting the vise.   All edges are routed for a smooth finish.   
 
I recommend a wood conditioner with beeswax.  We produce our own conditioner with wax from our bee colonies - ingredients are beeswax and food-grade mineral oil.  It is available for purchase!
