You need a broom sewing vise on floor brooms, at least!  These vises hold your hurl in place, allowing you to complete final steps in completing your broom, the sewing!
 
Wood is either oak or mahogany, so excellent strength.  Constructed with high quality nuts and bolts, as well as comfortable knobs (no wing nuts here!) for ease in adjusting the vise.   All edges are routed for a smooth finish.
