Band Wrap – One of the Most Useful Tools on My Workbench

Simple. Reliable. Surprisingly indispensable.

I don't make a single broom or brush without reaching for a Band Wrap. It has become one of those tools I never realized I needed—until I started using it.

Unlike ordinary rubber bands that eventually dry out, crack, and break, these premium bands are designed to last. They are resistant to UV light, ozone, weather, and aging, and they're made from a durable, non-latex material that's safe for anyone with a latex allergy.

Endless Uses Around the Workbench

I use my Band Wrap to:

  • Hold broomcorn or tampico securely while sewing a hurl
  • Keep hurl in place during wrapping
  • Mark sections of a broom or brush while I'm working
  • Hold fibers tightly together during trimming
  • Maintain tension while wrapping cord
  • Secure work if I need to stop in the middle of a project

One of my favorite uses is when I can't finish a broom in one sitting. Simply wrap the Band Wrap tightly around the working cord and secure it with the wooden pin. It maintains the tension on your work, allowing you to return later without losing your progress.

I've tried using clips over the years, but they often slip off or get in the way. The Band Wrap conforms naturally to the shape of your work, stays securely in place, and is much quicker to use.

Once you begin using one, you'll likely find yourself reaching for it during nearly every broom or brush you make.

An inexpensive tool that quickly earns its place on every broom maker's workbench.
