These are special bands - not a typical rubber band that eventually crumbles or becomes so brittle they break.  These are UV, ozone, age and weather resistant - it takes a lot for one of these bands to break!  They are non-latex, so anyone with a latex allergy can use them.  
 
I don't make a brush or broom without using a band wrap at some point.  I use it to earmark a section of my broom/brush, to hold the craft broomcorn in place for sewing the hurl (round bristle), to hold hurl in place while I wrap, to tighten down hurl when trimming the top of my broom - so many uses.  
 
If you don’t have time to finish the brush/broom in one sitting, use the BAND WRAP to hold tension on your wrapped cord. Wrap the BAND WRAP around the end of your cord tightly and fasten using the wooden pin. You can pick up your brush/broom at a later date without losing any of your work!  The band wrap is so much easier and faster to use than a clip to hold your work in place!  My clips always fall off, but I've never lost my work when using a band wrap.  They conform easily to odd shapes, unlike a clip!
 
So economical - hard to pass up!!
