You need a broom sewing vise on floor brooms, at least! These vises hold your hurl or tampico in place, allowing you to manage final steps in completing your broom, the sewing! This vise is smaller - only 8 inches in length, with an internal measurement for fiber of 5.75". This vise is lighter in weight than the 12 inch, so it is easier to work with on smaller brooms.
Wood is mahogony. Constructed with high quality nuts, bolts and washers, as well as comfortable knobs (no wing nuts here!) for ease in adjusting the vise.
I recommend a wood conditioner with beeswax. We produce our own conditioner with wax from our bee colonies - ingredients are beeswax and food-grade mineral oil. It is available for purchase!
